WHBL 15U Select Team for 2026
Dear fellow baseball parents,
We’re past the deep freeze, so it's about time to start thinking about baseball!
We're pleased to announce that the West Hill 15U Select team is recruiting players for the 2026 season.
An information session about the team will be held on Sat., February 28 from 2:30-3pm at Sir Oliver Mowat CI, following one of our indoor training sessions for West Hill's 15U house league players. All parents and kids who are curious about the Select team are enthusiastically invited to attend, not only for the information session, but also for the winter gym from 1-3 pm!
We'll be holding tryouts for the team on the following dates:
Saturday, March 14, 1-3 pm at Mowat CI
Saturday, March 28, 1-3 pm at Mowat CI
If the weather permits, we might also hold an outdoor tryout in early April.
To be eligible, kids must have a 2011 or 2012 birth year. They don’t need to be signed up with West Hill to attend the tryouts, but if they make the team, they’ll need to register for house league before being put on the roster. More information can be found at https://westhillbaseball.leagueapps.com/pages/select-baseball.
The 2026 Season should start either May 17 or May 24 ad will play 9 “loop” games in the Toronto Baseball Association (TBA) East Select loop (usually played Sunday nights).
We are set to play in the WHBL tournament, July 3-5, and we are looking to enter into up to 2 more.
You can expect the Select season to finish with the “TBA Playdowns” on the August 7-9 weekend. It will be a “double knockout” tournament format, so you can expect to play on Friday and Saturday for sure. If the team does well and advances, the Sunday will have games as well.
Finally if the team wins the TBA’s, then we will be asked to represent the TBA in the provincial playoffs, which will play the Labour Day weekend.
If you have any questions about the Select team or the indoor training sessions, please don’t hesitate to contact Coach Joel (416) 722-9089 or joel.m.jimenez@outlook.com. We hope to see you at the information session, and at the tryouts!
Best wishes,
Coach Joel.
